Amnesty members send a message to China

This week, thousands of Amnesty International supporters will stand together
as a visual message in support of human rights in China.
For the honor of hosting the 2008 Olympics, China promised that it would
improve its human rights record. Instead, China's human rights violations
have increased in the months leading up to the games. Their actions have included
a crackdown on peaceful dissent in Tibet, the jailing of prominent human rights
activists, and increased censorship of the media.
These abuses constitute a fundamental violation of the Olympic charter -
and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

Denver and St. Paul, get ready.
The Guantanamo cell tour will visit the Democratic and Republican convention cities later this summer.
After touring just four cities, thousands have visited the life size replica of a prison cell at Guantanamo Bay. Check out the cell tour blog for images and video.
But we need your help to continue touring the cell until Guantanamo is closed.

Sami al Hajj Released from Guantánamo!
"Myself, my son Mohammed and my wife Asma thank all Amnesty International members for supporting me and for supporting human rights. We will work hard with them together until we achieve peace for all people in the world. I will never forget their help and I will pray for them. I ask them to keep praying for me also. I will be glad if they continue their relationship with me, are in touch with me in my life and help me with my new job."
